Boston 2007: Day 4

Our last full day here on the East Coast we drove to Lexington and Concord. This was by far my ABSOLUTE favorite part of our trip. After resting up, I was feeling ALOT better so I have a ton of images to share.

It snowed today and Lexington and Concord looked like a winter wonderland.

Tavern at Minute Man National Park

Hubby took a tumble in the snow after acting like a dork.

Orchard House - The home of Louisa May Alcott, author of Little Women

Concord School of Philosopy - founded by Louisa May Alcott's father

Concord is such a charming town:

Sleepy Hollow Cemetary

Old North Bridge - where the Revolutionary War started

Minute Man Statue

In the distance is the home of Ralph Waldo Emerson's grandfather - he watched the start of the war from his study window.

Walden Pond - home of Henry Thoreau

Sunset over Walden Pond

We're on our way home tomorrow morning. I'll post a more detailed review after we've given our puppies hugs and kisses and we've settled in a bit.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

In other news. . . . .

SHE'S HERE! SHE'S HERE! Meet Miss Katalia Isabel:

Congrats to Kim and Dan!

Boston 2007: Day 3

Today, we took a day trip through Marblehead, Salem and Gloucester (rhymes with roster)and then stopped by Bunker Hill - the last stop on the Freedom Trail. After a jammed pack Day 2 I wasn't feeling too well today so Hubby had to entertain himself most of the time while I tagged along.

more pictures from Gloucester and Bunker Hill to come!

Boston 2007: Day 2

Public Garden

Harvard University

MIT

Hubby's New Lab ;-)

USS Constitution

Paul Revere's House/Neighborhood

Why no pictures of me and Hubby? Most of the pictures of us are on our point and shoot camera and I forgot the cord used to download. I'll write a more comprehensive review of the city (with pictures of course) when we return.

Christmas Eve Eve Moon

My Father-in-Law called me on his way home from Alvin and said, (in his East Texas accent, of course) "You should take a picture of the moon tonight. It's covered in a whisp of clouds with one star underneath. It would make a cool picture." Well, by the time I got out there (after messing with my cheap-o tripod) the clouds had moved on but I got a cool shot nonetheless :-)

Christmas Lights 2007

Check out our Christmas Lights!

Every year Hubby likes to add something new and this year it's a 6ft tall toy soldier. This thing is covered in so many lights I bet it can be seen from space! :-P

Merry Christmas!

10:45PM and I can't sleep. . .

I'm FINALLY finishing up edits, card designs, etc. that needed to be done BEFORE Christmas. Next year, I'm definitely going to push my clients to have their holiday sessions EARLY. This month has been CRAZY busy! I'm so PLEASED with this year's Holiday Card Designs (I'll share a few next week.) You would think with completing all of my tasks I'd be able to sleep. But I can't seem to turn my mind off! :-\

Well, no post is complete without pictures. Check out this face:

Isn't so sweet??
When she looks at me like that I can't be mad about this:

If you can't tell, Layla doesn't like to share with her brother and sisters.

In other news, check out these images:

I purchased an inexpensive (relatively speaking of course ;-) ) background stand and umbrella to try out studio lighting. Next year, I'll be taking a few classes on the subject and I figured I'd get a head start by practicing a bit. Miss Layla was the only one who would sit for me! She is probably the HARDEST subject I'll ever photograph because it's hard to get the exposure right for all of her black fur especially on an all white background. I don't think I did half bad for my first time.

Hubby and my bro are going to kill me for posting these but here are a few more: (I had to pry their lazy butts of the couch)

Anyone else want to be my practice subject?? :-)

Kendall and Angela's Wedding

The weekend after Thanksgiving I second shot Kendall and Angela's wedding at Lindsay Lakes in Cypress, Texas. Angela planned for an outdoor ceremony but mother nature had other ideas that day. It was COLD and would NOT stop raining. If this happened to me I would be a wreck but Angela handled everything with grace and calm. Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL and Todd and I had such a great time.

Angela and Kendall - I hope you had a great time on your honeymoon and enjoy the slideshow!
