During the ceremony, I asked Ailynne to focus her perspective on the guests - especially the parents AND look what she got!

Kirk and Erika: Slideshow

Kirk and Erika were married in a beautiful ceremony this past Sunday at the Crystal Ballroom. You may remember their engagement session from a few months ago. The Crystal Ballroom holds a special place in me and my hubby's heart because that is where we had our wedding reception exactly 11 months before Kirk and Erika's wedding. We just love the character the lobby, ballroom and empire room exude. Can you imagine our excitement when Kirk and Erika told us they chose it for their wedding? :-)

Target's Bridal Collection

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE Target. From the dollar bins, to the cool clothes, to even the super-trendy garden furniture (my latest obsession - gotta furnish my new patio! :-P ) - everything you could ever WANT is at Target! AND you can grocery shop at the same time!

So, you can imagine my excitement when I received an e-mail about their new bridal collection:

University of Houston PRSSA Spring Banquet

On Friday, I had the opportunity to photograph the University of Houston's PRSSA Spring Banquet. The banquet was held in honor of the sponsors and students who supported the association this past year. The students who make up this organization are great people and I know they'll go far. I wish them all the best! :-)

My hubby, Todd, has been promoted to Business Manager! Previously, he had been regulated to "assistant" - schelping bags, holding the light stand, uploading CF cards, etc. :-P He'll still be working in those capacities but will also take on all the administrative stuff I'm starting to get bogged down in. In terms of client relations, administrative stuff includes: collecting contracts, payments, placing/mailing album and print orders, album design and communicating with clients regarding their orders.

I've been busy!

Saturday, I was a guest/photographer for Ailynne's 30th Birthday Party at Hotel Derek. Her sister, Anne Marie did an amazing job planning! I LOVED all of the little details from the white tulips, Tiffany Blue/Brown placecards to the cool favors. I felt so special to be invited to this awesome event. Nina and Alex Wedding Reception

What a busy weekend! Saturday I shot Nina and Alex's Houston Wedding Reception. Nina and Alex had a destination wedding in Costa Rica with close family and friends - then had a gorgeous reception at the Kim Son Ballroom in downtown Houston. They had family in attendance from as far as Vietnam.

I shot over 130 formal pictures which I think should be a world record! :-P Nonetheless, I was able to catch some fun shots of everyone having a great time. Congrats Nina and Alex!

A BIG THANK YOU to Ailynne and my hubby for helping me out Saturday night. Check out Ailynne's blog for some great detail shots. My hubby was an AWESOME assistant - carrying my bags, changing batteries, holding the monopod with the off-camera flash, uploading images to the laptop - the list could go on and on. We make a great team!

I absolutely loved the simplicity and detail of her dress! She and Alex were so gracious all evening and took the time out to personally greet everyone of their guests. I don't think they ate a bite all night!

The band was great and played awesome music that people were having a blast dancing to. The name escapes me now but I'll be sure to post it up.

The following day I had a baby portrait session with the cutest babies in the world. I have baby fever again! :-P Images from this session will be up later this week.

Nhi and Hieu

I have known Nhi and Hieu since we were adolescents going through teenage-angst. What's cool about my association with them is I knew OF Hieu in Jr. High (I think we were in the same gym class :-P ) then 'kind-of' met Nhi when we were both 8th graders in Houston's "All-City Band." She played the clarinet and I played the flute. My friendship with Nhi took flight when we ended up at the same high school. As fate would have it, during our senior year, Nhi and Hieu (he went to a different high school) were setup by a friend who's boyfriend was best friends with Hieu.

The rest they say is history!

Nhi and Hieu have recently celebrated their 5th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends by hosting a Black and White party. It was filled with fun, food, lots of laughter and a big surprise for the guests - they're EXPECTING! :-)

Congratulations guys and hope you're having a great time in New Zealand!

I "met" Betsy while we were both planning weddings as "knotties" and actually did not meet in person until her wedding day. She's such a sweet gal and I hope she and Joe had a great time during their honeymoon at Disneyworld.
